California kids and parents praise Endurance - a Sports and Psychology Center's swimming training at Mills College

Parents and children today praised the Fit Family Swim training held at California’s Mills College, in Oakland. The training will continue for the next three Saturdays, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.

Endurance – A Sports and Psychology Center (ESPC) organized the event, which is sponsored by the Healthy Hearts Program at Children's Hospital Oakland. Endurance Director, Dr. Cory Nyamora, and Mills College swimming coaches supervised the event.

Dr. Cory Nyamora is a certified US coach in Track & Field as well as Triathlon. He is also a psychologist. His organization is involved in various programs intended to keep families fit and healthy. The programs include biking, running, swimming and triathlon.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and running and triathlon coach. I received my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University) in 2004. I held prior coaching certifications through USA Triathlon from 2008-2020 and USA Track and Field for several years.

I provide clinical psychotherapy services, trainings and workshops, consultation and supervision for psychology, social service and foster care agencies, as well as triathlon and running coaching. I was born and raised in Kenya and immigrated to the U.S. in 1993. One of my passions is leading running trips to Kenya. I love the outdoors and especially enjoy spending time with my family as well as trail-running, swimming, cycling, racing and enjoying travel, music, art, food, culture and reading.
