Ten more tips to improve your running and triathlon training

  1. Break down your goals into achievable chunks – success builds motivation

  2. To build confidence keep a success log

  3. Develop positive skills for competition

  4. Have fun – enjoy your sport and what you’re capable of

  5. Think of sports as meditation – each moment will be different so just watch the ups and downs go by

  6. Ride with the changes – sometimes a run will be excellent, sometimes not, but go with the flow…don’t get attached

  7. Find your focus – e.g. count steps when running

  8. Count breaths or just focus on your breathing

  9. Focus on your surroundings and what you enjoy about them

  10. Count pedal strokes
