What the runners say about the coaching at Endurance--a Sports and Psychology Center and its director and coach, Dr. Cory Nyamora
Tom
Thank you for an awesome start to my year. Thanks to your guidance and coaching, I'm accomplishing things I never thought I could. I'm breaking distance records and I've lost 7 pounds in 6 weeks! Thanks for helping me discover the joy of running. It's been an amazing journey. It's truly become a passion and I've never been more fit. Thank you!
Rachel
I LOVED it. It was so great to learn running techniques, be with a team, get the encouragement of such an amazing coach. Probably the best parts for me were: learning I could run; having a commitment to train for; and having the Endurance team--you and MaPa (Mama and Papa, Cory’s parents) were the best!!
Thanks so much, Cory. You are an AWESOME coach! I totally appreciate how attentive you were to each of us; how organized and supportive and how you TOTALLY made it so that we could all finish and finish so successfully. Thanks for all the support and tangible practical advice. Thank you for everything you did.

Yesterday was simply an incredible day (The day San Jose Half Marathon took place). Thank you so much for getting us to complete this amazing goal!

Thanks Cory!I have been enjoying the training and definitely learning something about myself and my capacity to challenge myself on a physical level.
Rachel
THANKS for the great workouts. I can already see a difference in what I am able to do and I really, really, appreciate the accountability, technique-suggestions and how the workouts are challenging yet not impossible for me. I'm so glad I signed up to do this!!

Thanks, Cory, for being so positive--always much appreciated. I would not have thought even what we have already done to be possible. That we are just taking the time to get some exercise is amazing enough; and of course work still gets done- probably better. So thanks Cory for the new possible.
I learned that I can run! And specifically that I can run for a long time. In learning this, I learned that taking time I didn't think I had for fitness training saves time downstream by improving focus. And I learned how much fun road races are. I have gained the confidence now to keep running, and the experience to know the rewards will be worth every bit of training.
I can already see that this kind of positive experience with running is contagious. Another colleague at work, once she realized I had tackled Freedom's Run, signed me up on a Children's National Hospital team for an upcoming Marine Corp Marathon 10K in DC. I expect many more such events and surely another Freedom's Run are in the future.
Cory was consistent and not only positive but credibly so. I appreciated his can-do attitude and the infectious positivity that translated to everyone doing this together with him.
I had the good fortune to meet the roots of that unsinkable spirit one lucky local training opportunity when I was in the Bay Area briefly in August. Cory’s mother and father came to a track workout and enthusiastically rooted everyone on - believing so fundamentally in what the rest of us were still debating with ourselves: We could do this.

What I'm most excited about is that I made it!! I ran 13.1 miles and I did it with my fiancé. It's great to say that I did a half-marathon! Most importantly, my fiancée and I learned how to work with each other, be patient, work as a team, support/motivate each other, enhanced our communication, improved our self-esteem as a couple and it gave us an activity to do together. I will do it again. I loved the continuous support that you and your whole family gave us. Cory, you are so patient, caring and non-intimidating. You gave wonderful feedback and it worked all the time! Thank you for bringing that love back into running for my fiance. It has helped him tremendously and the best part is that he is shin splint pain free and he is still running! Thank you for all your support and wonderful training!!

The track workout was good for me-- reminded me that I can do this, and that I actually like the speed work, though I'd never go to a track on my own. Ran 5 miles yesterday, and it felt pretty good. I am actually surprised at how good it has felt.

I've never been much of a long-distance runner. Since moving to Oakland in 1999 I had never completed a full run around Lake Merritt, although I thought many times it would be fun to do so. Now I'm thrilled to be able to leave my condo in downtown Oakland and complete a 4.5 mile round-trip run around the lake. It's definitely a victory for me, thanks to Cory's coaching and training program as well as the fun of training with you all.
