Kenyan-born US coach to begin training marathon runners countrywide on July 10

A US coach, born in Kenya, said on Tuesday that he will train half-marathon runners countrywide. The training begins on July 10.

Dr. Cory Nyamora is the director of Endurance--A Sports and Psychology Center, Inc., in San Francisco Bay Area, California. The center provides sports opportunities, outdoor adventures and psychotherapy for children and families, as well as adults.

Dr. Nyamora held a teleconference for potential trainees on Tuesday. He will conduct the training in person for the people who live in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, and use distance coaching technology for those out of state.

The teleconference was the third information session Dr. Nyamora had held to give details on the Half-Marathon Training Team program. The prior two meetings were held at Endurance offices in Berkeley, CA.

He discussed his coaching philosophy, the training structure and requirements.

Dr. Nyamora was educated and trained in the United States.

He is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified USA Triathlon coach, USA Track and Field coach and Youth Fitness Specialist.

His center provides sports opportunities, outdoor adventures and psychotherapy for children, adults and families.

Dr. Nyamora also provides services at a leading weight-management program at the Children's Hospital Oakland. He works closely with individuals to find fun and effective strategies to stay healthy.
