Melody Sit, LCSW

Melody Sit is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. Her concentration in graduate school was in Health and Aging. She has lived experience as a first-generation college student and as a caregiver for her elderly immigrant parents.

As a therapist, Melody recognizes the importance of mental health and guiding her clients to identify and honor their own narratives, strengths, values, and resiliency to improve their own quality of life despite past childhood and life circumstances, social and cultural barriers, and trauma. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy. Melody provides culturally competent, person-centered therapeutic services to low-income, people of color/ ethnic minorities, college students, adults, and older adults. Her goal as a therapist is to destigmatize mental health and offer a safe and non-judgemental space for each of her clients to reflect, process, and develop skills to enhance their quality of life and create a life that is worth living.

Melody also works at UCSF outpatient psychiatry as an Intensive Case Manager. She provides support to people experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms including psychosis, trauma, substance use, and homelessness.
