Jenn Bowman, MSW, Associate Therapist

Supervised by Marcos Apolonio, LCSW

Jenn Bowman received her MSW from the University of Washington and a BA from The Evergreen State College. Jenn has extensive community based experience working with a range of diverse communities from immigrants and refugees, to children and families, particularly in the foster care system. Jenn also has significant knowledge, training and commitment to communities of color and to LGBTQQIP2S+ communities.

Jenn works with children, adults and families who are on a path to healing and transformation.  As a therapist, Jenn is deeply committed to social justice, advocating for marginalized communities, and challenging oppressive systems. As a queer person of color, Jenn brings a unique perspective to their practice, understanding the intersectionality of identities and the impact of systemic inequalities on mental health. Jenn’s approach emphasizes empowerment, resilience, and self-compassion, while also addressing the systemic barriers that may contribute to clients' struggles. Jenn believes in creating a safe and affirming space where individuals can explore their experiences, challenge societal norms, and work towards healing and liberation. Jenn does this work because she believes in the interdependent nature of individual and collective liberation. Jenn will support clients in navigating the complexities of identity, navigating systems of power, and cultivating pathways towards personal growth and collective change.

Jenn integrates various modalities into her practice to best support a person’s diverse needs, including mindfulness, narrative therapy and solution focused therapy. Jenn uses a relational approach and values strategies such as harm reduction and shame reduction. Jenn also integrates insights from brain science to inform her therapeutic approach.
