Iman Kanj, LCSW

Iman Kanj is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the field of mental health for 10 years. She received her Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Southern California in Mental Health and School Services and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in Psychology and Child Development.

Iman has experience working with young children, adolescents, and families. She has been trained in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and various other therapeutic practices. Her treatment approaches are culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. They are modified for the unique needs of each individual and family. She utilizes a combination of play, talk, and behavior therapy with children, adolescents, and families. She takes an eclectic approach, incorporating multiple therapeutic modalities, while working with adults.

Iman aims to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space for her clients to share their life experiences. Iman acknowledges that one of our most fundamental human needs is to form connections, and she strives to utilize the therapeutic relationship with her clients as a guide for growth and healing. Iman hopes to become a partner in her clients’ personal journeys, and to empower them to gain the valuable insight and practical skills essential for overcoming obstacles, achieving goals, and living a well-balanced, self-fulfilled life.
