Demond Washington, MA. Doctoral Practicum Student

Demond Washington is a 4th year PsyD student. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of La Verne and a master's in Clinical Psychology from California Northstate University. As a first-generation college student, Demond understands the unique challenges and triumphs that come with navigating higher education. Demond has extensive experience working with foster children, including those with mental health disabilities, through his work in the Foster Care system. His dedication to supporting vulnerable populations is evident in his empathetic approach and his commitment to making a positive impact in their lives.

As a former student-athlete and future clinician, Demond aspires to work with collegiate and professional athletes, recognizing the unique mental health challenges they face. He aims to provide tailored support to help athletes navigate the pressures of their careers and maintain their mental well-being. In practice Demond pulls from the following modalities - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy (ST), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He is committed to destigmatizing mental health and providing supportive, evidence-based interventions to help his clients achieve their goals and enhance their overall well-being.
