Reading and mental health
Reading can be a great mental health tool for getting through challenging times and a wonderful practice to pursue during the pandemic. While we read we become engaged in the world of the book, learn new things and experience a variety of thoughts and emotions. It’s also a great way to support bookstores, authors and libraries. I highly encourage folks to find books that they love and to dive in. If you can get paper books or audio books this can help limit the increased screen time that work from home has added for many of us. Additionally, there is some research on mental health benefits and reading. Check out Can reading books improve your mental health?
