A previous biking trips for California kids and parents enjoy a beautiful day of riding at Tennessee Valley Trail

Please join us for a biking trip organized by Endurance – A Sports and Psychology Center, Inc. and sponsored by Trips for Kids. We will be riding on a beautiful trail in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and having lunch. Parents are welcome to join us and walk or bike the trail. There is a $15 charge per child (includes one parent) and then $5 per additional family member for this trip, and space is limited so please respond immediately! Your reservation will be made on a first come, first serve basis.

Things to do:

  1. Read all the instructions below.

  2. Sign all the release forms: One for Endurance – A sports and psychology center, Inc. and one for Trips for Kids & mail these back to us as soon as possible.

  3. Pay your money to reserve your spot before the trip.

  4. Provide a copy of your medical insurance card.

Please see the directions attached for Golden Gate Park and be there by 10.00 a.m. The ride should be over by about 2.00 p.m. Please be available by phone in case our trip ends early or late.

What to Bring

Please bring the following items to ensure a fun experience:

  1. Lunch will be provided.

  2. Clothes for hot and cold weather (don't forget a jacket, even if it is nice out)

  3. A backpack

  4. A sturdy pair of shoes for walking or biking

Bikes, helmets, gloves, and water bottles will be provided.

Please do not wear a walkman on the ride.

You must have the permission form completely filled out and signed by a parent or guardian to take on the ride. You cannot go on the ride if this form is not signed and provided. (USE THE LINK AT THE END OF THIS INFORMATION TO DOWNLOAD AND COMPLETE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION)

Remember to eat a good breakfast on the day of the trip and come prepared to have fun!

San Francisco Golden Gate Park Ride

From East Bay

  1. Take the Bay Bridge to 101 South.

  2. Take the Fell St./Octavia Blvd. exit.

  3. Continue on Octavia until you reach Fell St.

  4. Turn left onto Fell. Fell veers right onto JFK Dr.

  5. Follow JFK Dr. through park to Great Hwy/Ocean Blvd.

  6. Get into far right lane and enter the 1st parking lot (across from the Beach Chalet).

From Marin

  1. Take 101 South to Golden Gate Bridge.

  2. After the toll booth, bear right to 19th St. exit (Park Presidio Blvd).

  3. Turn right on Fulton St.

  4. Take Fulton St. to the end/beach, turn left on Ocean Blvd.

  5. Get into far right lane and enter the 1st parking lot (across from the Beach Chalet).

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and running and triathlon coach. I received my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University) in 2004. I held prior coaching certifications through USA Triathlon from 2008-2020 and USA Track and Field for several years.

I provide clinical psychotherapy services, trainings and workshops, consultation and supervision for psychology, social service and foster care agencies, as well as triathlon and running coaching. I was born and raised in Kenya and immigrated to the U.S. in 1993. One of my passions is leading running trips to Kenya. I love the outdoors and especially enjoy spending time with my family as well as trail-running, swimming, cycling, racing and enjoying travel, music, art, food, culture and reading.
